We are currently recruiting for an Asbestos Manager on behalf of our public sector client based in South London.
The role will plant, manage and audit asbestos surveying and management activities including maintaining policy, procedures, management plan and ensure the asbestos register is maintained up to date.
This is a contract role, initially for 3 to 6 months and is paying up to £400 per day Umbrella. The role offers hybrid working, with at least 2 days in the office/on site in Croydon.
To provide and arrange asbestos technical leadership and guidance to the Housing Directorate
Lead and manage the asbestos team
Provide management reports on compliance, assurance and performance
Prepare programmes of asbestos surveys and remedial works to ensure compliance with asbestos requirements and budgets to support delivery
Check applications for payments and invoices against contract
Responsible for budget management of all asbestos activities including planned inspection and remedial programmes and activities on responsive and voids
Support other teams to plan and deliver programmes of works such as responsive repairs, voids, component replacement and building investment works
Contract manage service providers delivering asbestos related activities including surveys, remediation, removals, air monitoring and consultancy
Provide regular reports to senior management including compliance, assurance, programme delivery, RIDDOR, near misses, training and social value
Advise on asbestos related situations providing guidance and support where required
Report asbestos related incidents in accordance with HSE and Croydon's health and safety reporting proceduresEssential knowledge:
Minimum of 3 years asbestos experience
Successfully completed the 'Duty to Manage' Duty Holders and Appointed Persons Training or similar. UKATA Certificate
A Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying
CSC Management Card (desirable).
