Provide a professional lead for landscape planning work in the South West / South Wales and support staff through professional development, ensuring appropriate technical expertise is retained and developed.Shared responsibility with our Planning/EIA lead for our Renewables work in the South West / South Wales and beyond, building on our excellent reputation for the quality of Planning, EIA, and Landscape work. This would involve responsibility for continued growth of this pipeline of work, client relationships, resourcing and quality of work with close collaboration across Stephenson Halliday and the wider RSK Group.Providing technical leadership in specialist area / discipline; including methodologies & approaches; providing inspiring leadership; promoting excellence, challenge & review.Expert witness services.Carrying out of landscape and visual appraisals, feasibility, screening and scoping studies, particularly relating to minerals, renewable energy developments and other infrastructure projects. It will be necessary to work flexibly with regard to type of work, timing and location.Authoring of Landscape, Townscape and Seascape Character, and Visual effects assessments as standalone appraisals and for ES chapters.Designing mitigation and enhancement schemes.Person Specification
Experience undertaking landscape planning / LVIA for minerals projects (quarry extensions, site restoration), renewables projects (wind energy / solar farm / battery storage), Experience of landscape planning / LVIA for other infrastructure projects (e.g. energy distribution & transmission, residential, commercial, mixed use, road, rail and water)Excellent report writing skills.Driving Licence.Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute CMLIPostgraduate or Masters in Landscape Architecture.Salary and Benefits
