The Role – Disability Youth Workers – Richmond Upon Thames
Academics SEN team work with several schools in Richmond Upon Thames which require additional support for students with special needs. These include primary, secondary and further education colleges, all of which are adapted specifically for students with phsyical challenges that require additional support, such as hoisting and gastrofeeding.
We are working with one school in particular for students aged 11-19 who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. Due to the nature of the students needs the school is looking for reliable and consistent staff who want to really make a difference in a young persons life.
The Candidate – Disability Youth Workers – Richmond Upon Thames
* Experience of working with children, particularly those with SEN (Autism, Severe learning difficulties, Profound and multiple learning difficulties)
* Experience of working within the care industry (child or adult)
* A can do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom
* The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
* The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members
* Training and/or experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
* Manual Handling
* Personal Care
* Hoist Training
* Feeding & Changing
