Wood is recruiting for an Engine Room Operator / Marine Mechanical Technician for a 6 month contract starting in May 2024.
The position for Marine Mechanical Technician on Equinor Mariner B FSU will be responsible for all marine mechanical operations and maintenance activities on the utility systems and marine systems as defined.
The role will be accountable for the day-to-day operations, marine engineering support and planned/unplanned maintenance routines ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Ensure all relevant Marine mechanical equipment is fully operational, in service, maintained safely, effectively and in accordance with Mariner B (and manufacturers) procedures.
Prepare maintenance activities for execution, ensuring permits, tools, materials, equipment, work site preparation, etc, are in place in accordance with maintenance schedules.
Maintain complete and accurate records within the Maintenance Management System (SAP)
Ensure that the required level of reporting and record keeping is maintained.
Ensure that corrective work orders are raised for all known faults, and that required materials are ordered.
Ensure compliance with performance standards & reporting any failure to achieve the required standard.
Support maintenance compliance & ensuring work order data quality is of a high standard.
Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Carry out major services, overhauls and breakdown maintenance on asset equipment.
Maintain and operate marine systems and plant, including boilers and steam system, and engine room ancillary equipment.
Adopt, and promote Equinors safety culture, behaviours and values.
Promote a high level of HSE awareness and proactiveness.
Compliance with all Company management standards and procedure requirements and support all safety/environmental initiatives.
Ensure appropriate Risk Assessments are carried out for all activities, with particular attention to recognising the impact of change.
Ensure that all operational procedures are being correctly applied and adequately monitored.
Carry out emergency response duties where necessary.
Support plant safety, equipment availability and production uptime.
Supervising vendor support personnel.
Support onshore in critical spares management
Act as Area Technician for Engine room and platform Fire pumps
Act as Performing Authority for plant and machinery within their area, Developing and implementing appropriate isolation Schemes in compliance with Isolation Standard
Qualifications:
HNC/NVQ in relevant discipline Minimum Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a marine opertations or closely related professional experience within the oil and gas industry. Practical knowledge of systems plant and equipment relevant to the industry sector in own discipline area Experience in the operation and maintenance of steam boilers and ancillary equipment Experienced technician practice within an offshore environment. Good working knowledge of marine engine systems Experience of CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
