About the Role
The Family Support Hub Team provides intensive and assertive community based support alongside Social Care teams to explore a family's capacity to change.
The team will work on a parental/carer capacity to change; focusing intervention on parental motivation, parental ability, emotional warmth, stimulation of child, parental ability to protect, domestic violence, substance misuse, poor parental mental health and environmental factors (such as poor living conditions and hygiene).
A key component of the role is to understand what children are living and learning and direct work alongside parents or carers to establish ability and motivation to meet the child/children’s needs. Within the role, you will also gain an understanding of how a family functions and how children's needs are met.
In the role you will be providing intensive support to families undertaking lone working visits to families’ homes.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience of working with children, young people and their families and delivering support for parents to develop their parenting ability. Experience of undertaking direct 1:1 support with children. Experience of providing 1:1 or group work support for parents or carers. Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of the Children’s Act legislation and Working together to Safeguard children. Ability to use MS Office and IT Platforms. - A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
