Freelance Project Manager (Small works Water Sector)

My Client are a Civil Engineering Contractor currently seeking a proactive and experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee small works projects valued at £50k each, as part of the Yorkshire Water framework. The successful candidate will be working with contractor with a strong presence in the industry, that take pride in delivering projects that exceed client expectations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
THE ROLE:
• Lead and manage all aspects of the 3-4 small works projects, from inception to completion.
• Ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress.
• Implement necessary adjustments to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Provide regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports; financial forecasts, progress reports, and risk assessments.
THE CANDIDATE
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the Water Sector
• Track record of successfully delivering small works projects.
• Strong project management skills; ability to effectively manage resources, budgets, & schedules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Valid CSCS card and relevant qualifications (SMSTS, First Aid, etc.).
