Linux System Administrator – OCI/SAASRemote, UK (but with requirement to be in Reading office a small amount) Linux System Administrator with DevOps skills in OCI/Cloud required to manage the SaaS Infrastructure. This is an operational role with DevOps opportunities and can be performed remotely in the UK but the team does have meetings in the Reading office fortnightly. Please note: due to the UK Government end client for some of the services this role will work on we require a British Passport holder with existing (or willingness and eligibility for) SC clearance. Requirements: Degree level education in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science / Management Information Systems/Science / Engineering / Mathematics / Physics / ChemistryBe able Demonstrate relevant Industry experience of at least 5 years.Excellent System Admin skills in Linux/Unix including commands and shell scripting. OEL/Redhat preferred.Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills supporting the OS, Storage and Hardware for Applications platforms and DatabaseSome NAS and/or SAN Storage administration experienceExceptional understanding of fundamental Network concepts (e.g. Routing, DNS, Firewalls)Excellent oral and written communication skillsThe ability to work both independently and with members of a global team without close supervision.Experience in supporting cloud-base infrastructure (e.g. Oracle OCI Platform)Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Puppet, and other automation skills are a plusA minimum of 3 year’s experience and advanced skills in several of the areas listed below:Core OS Services: SSH, SFTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP,Scripting in Python or bashProficient managing Virtualization technology, Xen preferredSupporting X86 based technology including fundamental hardware triage skills. Understanding Monitoring and diagnostics to maintain equipment health and reacting appropriatelyUsing Change Control tools to manage the site-service workflowExposure to Exadata or RAC desirableKey filesystem concepts – Ext, NFS, HW RAID and SCSIExperience of performance monitoring and capacity managementEssential awareness of operations in a secure environment Job duties are varied and complex utilising independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field. As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.
