Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Logistics Manager - Balfour Beatty Highways - NEAR Scheme - Around M25, London/Home Counties to join our Highways team based at various locations around the M25 for our NEAR (National Emergency Area Retrofit Programme) scheme.
What you'll be doing
As a Logistics Manager - Balfour Beatty Highways - NEAR Scheme - Around M25, London/Home Counties, you will provide daily coordination of the logistic resource streams on various projects related to the NEAR scheme for our Balfour Beatty Highways business unit around the M25.
Responsible for formulating, leading, motivating, and managing the logistics team; the team includes resource controllers, store personnel and security. Responsible for coaching direct reports and mentoring inexperienced staff. Responsible for developing and implementing the Project Construction Logistics and Security Strategy (CLSS); and updating when required. Ensure HSE targets and standards are maintained Oversee all movements of resources to and from site efficiently and ensuring associated records are kept and managed appropriately and in a digital manner.
Who we're looking for
Essential Either degree level qualification in Supply and Logistics or extensive experience or knowledge of industry and activity from the shop floor level upwards relating to logistics and supply or Construction Logistics Supply Chain Management experience management of customers and suppliers Risk and Opportunity management experiencing, including the implementation of change programmes Ability to communicate effectively to ensure customer relationships are managed, in addition to planning and organisation skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency Effective leadership skills, including experience of leading teams and confidence in the ability to lead, influence, negotiate and communicate with others to deliver targets are required
