A Building Services Consultancy is looking to add a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to their team due to an increase in workload.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is for someone who has experience as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in the Building Services Industry
* As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you carry out detailed designs of Mechanical Services
* Helping to generate repeat business through building relationships with clients. - Be client-facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion. - Ability to manage projects and teams to deliver to and exceed client expectations. Passionate about creative and innovative design.
* Management of Engineers and Technicians in the production of calculations, design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client
* liaison, liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty.
* Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief.
* Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project briefs and customer requirements. - Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
Requirements:
* You will previously have worked in a Building Services Consultancy or Contractor as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer
* BTEC/ONC/HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* A CIBSE professional registration (CEng)
* Understanding and experience of working with AutoCAD and design software’s such as Hevacomp, Revit,
* Confident communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas. -
* Experience in contributing to bids, proposals, and tender specifications.
