A leading insurance client seeking a QA Test Manager to join the business on a 6-month contract, outside IR35 and fully remote with only monthly/quarterly visits to the UK-based office.Accountabilities/Responsibilities:Implement and uphold the Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) standards throughout project lifecycle.Identify and ensure fulfillment of required QA resource needs.Review and update Programme Test Approach across all Test Phases (FIT/UAT/OAT/Security/Performance) and provide comprehensive reporting.Ensure adherence to GCP Azure Dev Ops pipeline standards.Identify and select appropriate test tools to optimise test delivery efficiency.Document and communicate suitable test environment and test data requirements to key Programme Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a timely manner, addressing availability risks and implementing contingency measures as needed.Ensure clear understanding of test data requirements within the Programme Team, including provision for test data creation when unavailable, and ensure secure handling of production sensitive data where necessary.Business Outcomes:Establish and enforce standards for quality across 3rd Party delivery teams, ensuring alignment with agreed DoR and DoD standards from test entry to production.Identify resource and skills gaps, communicating them to the Head of QA and Programme Team for recruitment purposes.Provide timely reporting on test progress, execution, defects, and test coverage metrics to support Programme delivery schedule.Produce defect reports highlighting affected test coverage for prioritisation of resolution.Include a Program Overall Activity Plan (POAP) visual to illustrate RAG status against workstreams, aiding in risk-based decisions and milestone planning.Verify appropriate test coverage for Unit/Smoke/Integration and Security SAST/SAST tests in build/deploy pipelines, enabling early feedback on code quality.Ensure test failures in the pipeline halt build/deploy functionality, leading triage and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities, and prioritise necessary remediation actions.This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of software development processes, contributing significantly to the success of Programme delivery and overall business objectives.Experience Required:Insurance or Financial Insurance experience in a similar role. Insurance is preferred.Large data transformation/migration/governance experience in a recent role.Excellent stakeholder management experience.
