SEND Tribunal & Mediations Officer
Location - Local Authority on the Southcoast
Salary : £400 per day
Contract : Initial 3–6-month contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.
Schedule – 5 days per week

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a SEND Tribunal & Mediations officer for an interim contract with our client, a local authority on the Southcoast.
As a SEND Tribunal & Mediations Officer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the Council's mediation and tribunal processes related to assessing additional educational needs for children and young people aged 0-25.
Tasks include preparation, assessment, research, and networking to develop and manage systems supporting this effort across the local authority. additional needs.
Duties will include:
Facilitate mediation proceedings for parents or young persons intending to appeal to the SEN & Disability Tribunal (SENDIST). Represent the Authority in mediation sessions and make decisions aligned with the child or young person's best interests and DCC policies within budgetary constraints. Ensure timely implementation of agreements reached through mediation. Manage, arrange, and prepare work related to appeals to SENDIST concerning statutory assessments and Statements of special educational needs.
