- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignements.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary designelements for engineering works.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Minimum RequirementsIn addition, you will have demonstrable experience gained through applicable post-graduate work in a relevant industry (power and energy, oil and gas, refining, chemicals). We will be looking for experience of:
- Acting as Process Engineer / Project Engineer on consultancy projects, with responsibility for delivery of engineering packages and / or technical reports
- Responsibility for process equipment design
- Generation of project deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, HMBs
- Generation of technical reports and specifications
- Experience of relevant technologies, such as gas fired power generation, carbon capture, hydrogen production, energy from waste, refining, industrial processes, etc.
- Applying technical / process safety in your work
Experience with specialist engineering tools and processes e.g. Thermoflow, HYSYS, ProMax would be advantageous. Demonstrable experience with the use of some form of engineering software, interpreting results, as well as understanding limitations.
An appreciation of other related technologies e.g. solar generation, energy storage, petroleum refining, ammonia production would be advantageous.
Preferred QualificationsBEng/BSc or above in either Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering
