Overview We are currently recruiting for Software Engineering Manager to play a crucial role in leading, managing, and motivating our software development team. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions, and driving innovation within the team. Responsibilities As manager of the software development team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the team and ensuring that internal and external requests for various types of software development are being met within the set timeframes, communicating and updating stakeholders about progress and ensuring that the software development platforms are fully functioning and meet the relevant standards required. Other responsibilities will include; Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. Provide effective leadership and mentorship to a team of software developers. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment. Review and optimize code written in a variety of programming languages, including but not limited to Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and code quality. Develop and maintain project plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budget management. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and scope. Possess a deep understanding of industry-standard protocols and technologies relevant to the field, such as HTTP, REST, TCP/IP, and others. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform project decisions and foster innovation. Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure software products meet or exceed established quality standards. Conduct code reviews and ensure that best practices in testing and debugging are followed. Identify potential risks and issues in software development projects and take proactive steps to mitigate them. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Qualifications The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Software Development Manager or similar leadership role, and strong coding abilities and extensive knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript. Other requirements include; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. In-depth understanding of industry-standard protocols and technologies. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve exceptional results. Familiarity with Agile and other software development methodologies.
