Axiom Maths is acharity focusing on helping every child with the heart and head formaths realise the potential of their power. Half of disadvantagedchildren who are high attainers in maths at eleven are no longerhigh attainers by age sixteen. That is a huge loss of humanpotential that affects both those children as individuals and us asa wider society. We are focused on stopping thatloss.
We do this by identifying children withmathematical potential especially those from disadvantagedbackgrounds and guiding them along a path to mathematicalexcellence. We take a dualpronged approach: Providing a programmeto improve their experience of maths and tackling harmful views insociety that stop children from feeling like maths is forthem.

Aboutthis role
Were looking for a Headof Region who will play a key part in establishing Axiom Maths asthe universal offering in secondary schools and building a strongcommunity in the Bristol and South West region. You will beresponsible for creating a regional strategy developing strongrelationships within the region and ensuring that we deliver ahighquality programme. You will be joining our Partnerships teamreporting directly to Naomi BurleyBaker our Director of SchoolPartnerships and working alongside six other Heads of Region. Thekey responsibilities of this role include:
1.School Retention
Ensure thatschools in your region have a great experience of our programmesuch that they want to continue running it and recommend it totheir peers.
Visit schoolsin your region deliver training and observe maths circles to ensurethat our programme is being delivered according to our qualitystandards.
Be the main pointof contact for the schools in the region helping to problemsolvechallenges and ensure schools feelsupported.
2. SchoolGrowth
Build a strategic planfor growth in the region understand and address barriers to mathsexcellence in the region especially for disadvantagedstudents.
Be an activeambassador of Axiom Maths and constantly look for opportunities togrow our reach and sign new schools up for theprogramme.
Build seniorlevelrelationships with schools and multiacademy trusts to retain themlongterm on the Axiom Mathsprogramme.
3. PartnershipBuilding
Build relationshipswith key stakeholders in maths organisations from universities tocharities to align our offers and work together to have maximumimpact in theregion.
Develop local andregional partnerships in the maths ecosystem so that every schoolis supported and has access to opportunities their pupils need toachieve their potential.
4.Mentor Coordination
Developand nurture the community of mentors working in theregion.
Ensure that we havethe support in place locally and recruit Axiom Maths mentors toenable every school to continue offering our programme to theirpupils from Year 9upwards.
5. OrganisationalLeadership
Collaborate withour curriculum and our operations teams to improve the delivery anddesign of the Axiom Mathsprogramme.
Collaborate andlead on organisationwide initiatives and contribute toorganisational objectives and keyresults.
Aboutyou
You have apassion for helping disadvantaged pupils achieve their goals andunderstand the importance of maths for enabling socialmobility.
You have previousexperience working as a teacher within the UK schoolsystem.
You have a strongunderstanding of classroom pedagogy and have previous experienceworking with otherteachers.
You haveexperience developing and managing projects with schools andteachers.
You haveexperience recruiting regional schools to participate in CPD SKE orsimilar projects andprogrammes.
You have anappropriate mathematics qualification (GCSE A level or Degree orrelevant equivalentqualification).
You havestrong written communication skills and you are a skilled andconfident verbal communicator able to give feedback.
You are able to workindependently and have excellent organisation and time managementskills.
You are proactiveand strategic with an entrepreneurial attitude to spot newopportunities.
You enjoycollaborating with others and are happy to provide support to yourpeers.
You always strive toimprove your own performance and improve the organisation you areworking as part of.
You areskilled at building and managing relationships with different typesof stakeholders.
You musthave the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo anenhanced DBS check.

Whatwe offer:
Salary: 56979 perannum
Remotefirst team: We all workremotely but meet once a month at our West London office (W11). Anallowance for travel to London for monthly team meetings isincluded in the salary and is not covered byexpenses.
Flexible Working: We work flexibly bydefault and value outcomes not hours worked. All our team areempowered to organise their work in a way that balances their workand life.
Setup costs covered: We offer a 500allowance to purchase equipment for working from home. A laptop isalso provided.
Travel costs: This role requiresschool visits at least once a week travel costs to schools arecovered by us.
Pension: 11% employercontribution
Annual leave: 27 days leave bankholidays increasing by 1 day after 2 years tenure (up to 30days)
