We are working with a large local school to find an interim SENDCo for at least this half-term. The school has over 300 children, and is rated OFSTED 'good'. They are part of a large trust that we also work really closely with. The school is in a coastal location, with beautiful surroundings.
Your new role
This role is suitable for a qualified SENDCo, who is willing to jump right into school life. You will initially be working 5 days a week in order for you to get to know the school, with the option to then work 3 days that suit you/the school, per week. You will be working in partnership with multiple stakeholders including parents,ernors and a range of professionals to lead the Special Education Needs provision across the school and ensure that the school meets its statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice.
This role is currently until May half-term. However, there is an opportunity for this to be extended or to move within the trust.
What you'll need to succeed
This opportunity is open to those with the SENDCo qualification (NASENCo), those working towards the SENDCo qualification and those who aremitted to gaining the qualification.
- A flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Good curriculum knowledge
- Right to work in the UK
- Ideally, a DBS on the update service for speed, but this is not a necessity as we can apply for a DBS through Hays
